In my painting about immigration, I reflect on my journey as a Colombian arriving inMontreal in two thousand seven. It was a transformative experience, adapting to Canadian culture while carrying the vibrant essence of my roots. I see myself as a rooster—symbolic of resilience and identity—standing on the vast Canadian landscape. The rooster embodies my voice and individuality, adapting to a new environment yet staying true to my origins, crowing with the spirit of both cultures.
